LINCOLN COLLINS is president of Kern Thoroughbreds, a bloodstock agency with a proven record in the international bloodstock community. Based in Lexington, Kentucky, he assists clients worldwide with the purchase and management of all varieties of bloodstock. Services provided by Kern Thoroughbreds also include business plan development, breeding plan development, racing stable management and appraisals.

Lincoln incorporated Kern Thoroughbreds in 1989, after many years of experience in the Thoroughbred industry. A graduate of Lancaster University in England, he began his career as junior assistant trainer to champion English trainer John Dunlop. After moving to the states in 1981, he managed three large equine partnerships for several years. Even during the struggling market of the 1980s, Lincoln considerably improved the financial holdings of those partnerships. His substantial knowledge of Thoroughbreds and economic activity make him a sought-after advisor on many continents.

Bloodstock Assistant Joseph Miller specializes in international racing and bloodstock activity for Kern Thoroughbreds.. Joe joined the agency in June of 2004, having previously worked for Churchill Downs Simulcast Network where he was responsible for marketing and promotion of the simulcast signals for all Churchill Downs-owned racetracks. He also previously worked for Bloodstock Agent John Warren and Highclere Racing Manager Henry Herbert selecting sale prospects.

A native of Saratoga Springs, New York, Joe worked at Saratoga Race Course while attending LaSalle Institute in Troy, NY as well as during his summer breaks in college. He is a graduate of the University of Louisville Equine Business Program and was the first Race for Education Thoroughbred scholarship recipient.

Joe assists with the management of client racing stables and works closely with Alastair Donald of Lillingston Bloodstock, using his broad knowledge of pedigree and racing form to identify prospects for purchase.

Laura Ruzicho serves as marketing and insurance services manager for Kern Thoroughbreds. In addition to producing award-winning marketing and communication pieces, including our website and seasonal DVD series, Laura is a licensed agent in property and casualty insurance, assisting clients with their equine mortality and farm/training insurance needs. She also provides office management.

Laura joined Kern Thoroughbreds in 1998, having previously worked as marketing and public relations director for a small college in Kentucky. She also was previously a customer communications and advertising representative for a large utility company after graduating from the University of Texas Radio-Television-Film program.
